  • Can I bring my wife/husband or friend who doesn’t train Jiu Jitsu?
    YES! Not only that, but the camp offers a special price for non-training partners. They can use ALL hotel amenities. DM us for more information.
  • Can I stay longer than the camp period?
    Accommodation will only be provided for the duration of the camp. Official Camp check-in Thursday afternoon and camp check-out Sunday morning. If you choose to arrive before or stay extra, please reach out to us for any inquiries, or feel free to extend your stay by booking a nearby location.
  • How to get to Sayulita
    There is no Sayulita Airport. The airport near Sayulita Mexico is Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta airport is around 40 minutes to an hour by car or bus to Sayulita.We can help you organized with transportation from the airport (shared or private).
  • What else is there to do in Sayulita besides the Camp?
    When you are not on the mats, you have endless activities in Sayulita to choose from.   • Why Sayulita?
    Sayulita is perfect for beginners surfers but offers plenty of fun and challenges for advanced surfers as well. Sayulita is also a great place to learn Stand Up Paddleboarding. Sayulita is a very safe place to travel for you, your family (including children) and friends. Sayulita is easygoing, peaceful and has a strong sense of community that relies heavily on tourism.If you are a foodie, Sayulita will thrill you with the multitude of eating establishments, from street tacos to fine dining with tables draped with white linen. Sayulita is famous for fresh, local seafood. Night life is a must when visiting.
  • Will meals be provided?
    Breakfast included in the hotel. Welcome and closing dinner (Thursday and Saturday night). We will be working with local restaurants and will have discount for all the attendants.   • Is camp worth coming to if I’m just a white belt?
    Absolutely! Our instructors are world class and can teach everyone at all levels.
  • How many Gi’s should I bring to Black Sand Jiu Jitsu Retreat and is there laundry service?
    We recomend 2 Gi's and some no Gi. Laundry will be provided at the hotel.
  • Is the plane ticket included for Black Sand Jiu Jitsu Retreat?
    No, every attendant has to buy their transportation to and from the event.
  • What is your return policy?
    We do not issue refunds, but your payment may contribute to the cost of training for a future Black Sand Retreat. If there is a difference cost, you will be required to pay the remaining balance.
  • I can't make this camp, do you have ones coming up in the future ?"
    Early November. For more info DM us. On November 1st and 2nd the Day of the Dead celebration is held in Sayulita; the streets are filled with color and flowers perfume the air. The grand cultural program and traditional night walk from the central plaza to the cemetery make this something everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
